Reading with Webster University
Hudson Elementary and Webster University have teamed up to form an after school reading program. Pre-service teachers from Webster University in classes EDUC 4695/COMM 5960 are pursuing a degree in education and learning about administering reading assessments, best practices in reading, and meeting the needs of all the readers in a classroom. The program will be on Mondays from 4:00 pm – 4:30 pm through Zoom. It will begin on February 22nd. See attached letter for more details.
Enrichment for All
Enrichment For All is a new program available to all WGSD elementary students. This program will explore computer science and STEM through optional, pre-recorded lessons that will be shared through Canvas each week. First semester, lessons were directed towards grades 3-5 and are still available for students to complete. Second semester will be focused on grades K-2. For the younger grades, all of the words on the screen have a play button directly below them so the students do not need to read anything by themselves. All of the work by the students can be completed with minimal help from a parent or teacher. The first lesson will be published on Tuesday, January 19. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
Take care,
Lisa
