The PTO plans to focus efforts to develop the amazing outdoor space for students, and your support will help bring this dream to reality. Stay tuned for progress updates.

    Trunk or Treat

    ToT

Trunk or Treat - Friday, Oct. 29, 2021

It’s almost time for the Clark’s annual Trunk or Treat! The event will be held on Clark’s parking lot starting at 6:00pm. To make this event a success we need your trunks!

Just a few things to know about Trunk or Treat this year:

    1. We have a limited amount of spaces available with access to electricity. If you're needing electricity please let us know right away so we can try to reserve you a spot.

    2. Due mostly to staffing issues there will NOT be food available for purchase this year.

    3. If you would like to participate but are unable to provide a trunk this year we are asking for candy, treat, trinket donations to help offset the cost for the people providing trunks. The donations can be sent to school with your child and they can drop them at the office with Mrs. Pribish or we would be happy to pick them up from your front porch if that is easier. Feel free to reach out to Lora Anzalone- lcounsell@hotmail.com or Megan McDonald- megmcd78@gmail.com with any questions.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Social Emotional Learning Survey

In support of our efforts to better care for the well-being of our students and nurture the most welcoming and inclusive environments possible, next week elementary counselors will help administer a brief, online and anonymous survey with 3rd-5th grade students between October 18 - 29th.  What they share, over the next couple of weeks and in a follow-up survey this spring, will help guide and assess our efforts to better care for elementary students in the WGSD.  Please reach out to Jennifer Starbuck (starbuck.jennifer@wgmail.org) with any questions.

    Room Parents

Room parents, thank you for signing up. If you have not signed up yet, please consider it as some classes only have a couple volunteers! Halloween parties are coming up soon, so please connect with each other and with your teacher to coordinate. The parties have limited time and there will not be parents in the classroom to help so be sure to keep things simple and communicate with the teacher to find out what they want and need. There will be an outside parade that parents can attend, and we will be allowed to provide snacks for the classroom. The links below will take you to:

    1. The sign up genius to find the lists of room parents (or sign up!!) https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0c4baaaa28a6f85-clark4

    2. The buzz book to find the contact information you need to connect with each other https://clarkpto.membershiptoolkit.com/

Please contact Amy Wrenn amywrenndvm@gmail.com or Lindsey Dreste lindseyd331@gmail.com with any questions at this time. Thank you!

WGSD Foundation Ivory Crockett Run For Webster is Back

    RFW

The Ivory Crockett Run for Webster is back in-person, with a virtual option as well! The in-person event features a one mile fun run/walk, a 5k, and a kids 100-yard dash (ages 12 & under).  While you’re out on the course, the WGHS Band, Cheerleaders, and Dance Teams will all be out there to cheer you on. After the run, enjoy brunch from some or our local restaurants, along with some quality time with Fredbird and Louie. Who knows, maybe they’ll try to beat Ivory Crockett’s world record!

We are also offering a series of virtual 5k runs, with one starting from every Webster Groves School District school, and a special Ivory Crockett Challenge 5k, starting from Ivory Crockett Park in historic North Webster. All of our activities are listed below, with dates, times, locations, and other details. Registration for all activities begins on September 1st.

Run, Walk, or Stroll with us in-person through beautiful Webster Groves on October 16th at 9am! Make sure you register by September 28th to guarantee a t-shirt in your size!

The Ivory Crockett Run for Webster was established in 2004. It honors Ivory Crockett, a 1968 graduate of Webster Groves High School. On May 14, 1974, Ivory participated in the Tom Black Classic held annually at the University of Tennessee. On a wet track and against world-class competition, Ivory sprinted to a world's best 9.0 seconds in the 100-yard dash, a record which still stands today.

Register to run or volunteer at WGSDFoundation.org today!
